Pim Westerweel 1936
It's as if time has stood still. In 1952, I was already playing with my father's plate camera, a skilled amateur photographer. Now, 75 years later, there are photographers trying to reinvent the wheel with a plate camera. For me, the digital age has given me 100x more possibilities than the fragile glass plates in the darkroom. Double-pressing and holding down, depending on skill and experience, sometimes produced stunning results. Now, in the digital age, the possibilities and results of the analog system are unmatched. I'm very happy with that because I find the result of expressiveness more important than the material product. I've always used the available possibilities, both analog and digital, to create works that have yielded satisfying results for me. Whether it's abstract compositions, black-and-white street scenes, or celebrity portraits, I've happily used all the techniques to achieve the best possible result. The attached overview shows a small portion of what I have produced over the past 75 years. Pim Westerweel
